Integrated pest management (IPM)

Integrated pest management (IPM) is the set of management stratigies with least or no use of chemicals, IPM stratigies have great importance in the field of agriculture. IPM is an environment friendly set of paractices to control the pests of important food and cash crops below the economic injury level. use of of less or no chemicals supports an environment friendly farming system which also improves the biodiversity.

The set of stratigies is:

  • regular monitoring of field for pest scouting.
  • good cultural paractices.
  • use of mechanical paractices (use of mechineries and equipments).
  • use of chemicals if it is necessary ,use of healthy dose should be sured.
  • biological control (use of living organisms against the pest).

The biological control is an important step of  IPM stratigies , todays world is looking for biological control because it suports healthy environment, more biodiversity and less soil degredation because of no use of chemicals.
